Alex Somer

As a Data Engineer, Alex specializes in the implementation of point cloud processing workflows. He enjoys being on the cutting edge of AI development and developing ethical solutions to the improve global access to agriculture.

Alex graduated Cum Laude from Appalachian State University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, specializing and certified in Data Science. During his time as a student, he oversaw and published multiple research papers on Colony Collapse Disorder affecting American honeybees and received the received the ECRS Computer Science High Achievers Scholarship.

Alex grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina, with three siblings. In his free time, he channels his creativity into musical endeavors, playing in a rock band and recording and producing music for other local bands.
